Using Aromatherapy

Several Ways to Use Aromatherapy:

Got a headache? Try using a little Lavender. Rub a little on your temples, or put a few drops in a diffuser and inhale it. Works great for a hangover, too!

Stuffy nose? Use Eucalyptus in a diffuser or bowl of hot water, and inhale. It’s a great anti-viral property to avoid colds or germs in stale air, like an airplane.

Methods of Use:

*Tissue/Hankie,  *Vapor,   *Massage Oil,   *Bath,   *Candles,   *Light Ring Diffuser,  *Room Spray,   *Oil Diffuser,   *Wood Fires

Tissue/Hankie:   Tissues or hankerchiefs are a nice portable way to use oils. Put a few drops of oil on a kleenex, tuck it in your pocket or purse and you can sniff the kleenex a few times when ever you need to. Instant results!

Diffusers: A few drops of oil in a heated infuser or potpourri burner will distribute vapor into the air quickly.  You may add a little water to a diffuser dish to make the oils last longer.

Light Ring Diffuser: Put 10 to 15 drops on a light bulb ring, put on cool light bulb, turn on the light, and let the heat of the bulb release the scent into the room.

Spray bottle: For a quick effect, put 10 drops of oil into water in a spray bottle, and spray the room.

Massage:  Mix 5 drops of essential oils with 1 teaspoon of carrier oil, such as grapeseed oil, and massage into skin.

Bath:  Add a few drops of essential oil to a carrier oil, and add a teaspoon to your bath. The warm water will infuse the vapor into the room .

Candles: Light a scented candle, and as the wax melts the essential oils are released into the air.  Or, put a couple drops of essential oil in the melt pool on an unscented candle and it will release the scent as the candle burns.

Wood Fires:  One or two drops of oil (try sandalwood) on a log in the fire place will scent the room when the fire burns. Allow the oil to sit on the log for at least an hour before burning.
